Issue brief
Technology and Market Power
How should America restrain gatekeeping without crushing innovation?
Our position
Enforce privacy and data minimization; support portability and interoperability where justified; protect right to repair; require transparent platform appeals; prosecute deception; and limit government coercion of private speech moderation.
Why it matters
Size alone is not a crime. Durable market power plus harm is. Entrepreneurship deserves defense; exclusionary conduct does not.
Evidence
Public support for stronger tech regulation is measurable but modest. Remedies must be proportionate, evidence-based, and appealable.
Strongest objection
Breakups are not automatic. Structural remedies require due process and proof of harm, not populist theater.
